From nucl(eo), → nucleus, + -ide, from Gk. eidos "shape."

Hastevâr, from hasté, → nucleus, + -vâr a suffix meaning "resembling, like," from Mid.Pers. -wâr, Av. -vara, -var, cf. Skt. -vara.
