Etymology (EN): Diphda, from Ar. zafda’ (ضفدع) “frog.” It is also designated as Deneb Kaitos, from zanab al-qaytusذنب القیطس “tail of Cetus.”

Etymology (PE): Mid.Pers. wazaγ, vak; Av. vazaγa- “frog,” → tadpole orbit.
