Etymology (PE): Xarman, ultimately from *xramana-, from *xram- “to thresh;” cf. Ormuri šraməd, Parâci khamör, Yidgha xurom, xuräm; Nuristâni Kati kram- “to thresh;” Skt. kram- “to stride out, to go” (H. W. Bailey, 1979).
