Etymology (PE): Bonâqâzin, from bon “basis; root; foundation; bottom” (Mid.Pers. bun “root; foundation; beginning,” Av. būna- “base, depth,” cf. Skt. bundha-, budhná- “base, bottom,” Pali bunda- “root of tree”)
