Etymology (EN): L.L. trapezium, from Gk. trapezion “irregular quadrilateral,” literally “a little table,” diminutive of trapeza “table,” from shortening of *tetrapeza, from → tetra- “four” + peza “foot, edge,” related to pous, podos, Pers. pâ, → foot.

Etymology (PE): Zuzanaqé, loan from Ar. dhuzanaqat.
