Etymology (PE): Barâvaž, present stem of barâvažidan,
literally “to speak loudly,” from bar- “on, upon, up,” → over-, + âvaž variant of âvâz “voice, sound, noise, clamour,” cf.
Sariqoli awuj “voice, sound,” Wakhi awôγ “voice, sound,” related to vâž, → word.
